Council hears North Hills COG update: Morton Salt option year and possible MS4 rule shift

The delegate also warned of potential changes coming from the state to the MS4 (Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System) program. According to the delegate’s summary, proposed state guidance may shift performance emphasis toward volumetric reduction of stormwater rather than concentrating solely on pollutant removal; the delegate said further details are expected as the state completes public comment and final guidance.
Council members asked for more information; the delegate said the COG will circulate links and updates as the changes become clearer. The Fox Chapel Water Authority was also reported as interested in becoming an associate member of the COG and the COG’s vendor equipment show is scheduled for June 5.
