Southpointe infrastructure plan moves toward Jan. 16 second reading after council questions on wetlands, bats and John Smith traffic

The discussion focused on environmental permitting (wetlands and floodplain), endangered species surveys, traffic impacts on John Smith Road and construction access plans.

Why it matters: Council members repeatedly raised public‑safety and traffic‑management concerns because dozens of future parcels and more than 1,000 rooftops were discussed in the plan.
