The Mesquite Redevelopment Agency voted March 25 to approve a construction materials testing and special inspection services agreement with Geotechnical and Environmental Services LLC (GES) for the Mesquite Fire Station 2 project, for $72,890.
‘‘It is a large project and there’s more special inspections associated with this building itself,’’ Travis, a city staff member, told the board while recommending approval of the agreement. Staff said the testing is separate from the contractor’s bid and is intended to provide independent quality assurance.
Board Member Wanless moved to approve the contract; a member seconded and the motion passed on the floor. No roll-call vote or member-by-member tally appears in the meeting transcript.
The board took no public comment on the item during the meeting. Staff did not state an expected start date for the testing services or identify specific inspection milestones at the time of approval.
