Hardeeville, S.C. — At its Jan. 2 meeting the Hardeeville City Council completed several organizational and procedural actions by voice vote.
The council elected Val Guzman as mayor pro tem after a motion, a second and a voice vote. The nomination was made during the council’s organizational session; no roll call or recorded tally was given.
The council approved the meeting agenda for the Jan. 2 meeting by voice vote, approved the minutes of the Dec. 12, 2024 regular meeting by voice vote, and approved the regular city council meeting dates for calendar year 2025 by voice vote. Council members did not add amendments to these procedural items during discussion.
During the manager’s report, City Manager Mister Gruber announced a special city council meeting scheduled for Jan. 8 at 4 p.m. to cover a single agenda item; the announcement was informational and no action on that item was taken Jan. 2.
At the close of the meeting the council moved to adjourn; the motion was seconded and the meeting was adjourned by voice vote.
Votes recorded in the meeting transcript were completed by voice without individual roll‑call tallies; where a voice vote was taken the chair called for “aye” and members responded. The transcript does not provide numerical tallies for these votes.
