Quinn and child‑protection supervisors emphasized prevention programs, family‑support outreach, family group decision‑making and flexible funds used to keep children safely at home when appropriate. The board approved the proclamation on a voice vote after Commissioner Moshe moved and Commissioner Ebinger seconded.
Commissioners and the county attorney praised social services and law‑enforcement staff for difficult work in child‑welfare and abuse investigations and highlighted the emotional toll on investigators and the importance of staff support and self‑care.
