Clay County highway department authorized to advertise annual supply bids and a Dilworth mill‑and‑overlay project

County engineer Justin explained bids are solicited individually (for example, gravel is bid for each of 30 townships) and that townships may opt to join the county bid; three townships and one city had so far chosen to join. Justin said the specifications include a county gradation for bridal gravel and that a testing schedule ensures contractors meet specs.
The board also approved advertising a Mill and Overlay project in Dilworth (SAP 014645002) on Casa 45 (described as a horseshoe through town) with a May 6 letting date. Justin noted the project has been on the five‑year plan and that Dilworth City Council approved a municipal resolution of support for the state aid project the prior week.
Commissioners asked technical questions about bid packaging and specifications. A motion by Commissioner Moshe to approve advertising the yearly supply bids and a motion by Commissioner Kravanoff to approve advertising the SAP mill‑and‑overlay were approved on voice votes.
