Weber County commissioners approve consent agenda, nominate UTA trustee, fill Nordic Valley vacancy and OK contract for court representation

Weber County commissioners on April 1 approved routine financial and administrative items, nominated a trustee to the Utah Transit Authority board, appointed a trustee to three Nordic Valley public infrastructure districts and authorized a contract for court-appointed defense counsel.

The actions came during a regularly scheduled Weber County Commission meeting in the county commission chambers. Commissioners also recognized two animal shelter employees for on-the-job assistance to colleagues and animals.

County staff presented the consent agenda, which commissioners approved by motion. The consent packet included 14 purchase orders totaling $297,117.73 and warrants numbered 104,694–104,730 and 490,081–490,172 totaling $894,198.71. Ricky Hatch summarized the week’s disbursements, saying about $159,000 (roughly 54 percent) was for fleet items, $77,000 (about 26 percent) for library computers and building maintenance, $30,000 (10 percent) for transfer station heavy-equipment repair and about $20,000 (7 percent) for property management work.…
