Commissioners confirmed that three public statues arrived, were unpacked and are being stored behind the recreation center, and said they reviewed potential placement options with city staff.
Steve and George said they inspected the statues with Nick and discussed possible locations. Commissioners noted that the statues must be mounted on concrete pads bolted to the sculptures; Nick or city staff must build those pads before final placement. Because the installation requires concrete pads and bolt mounting, commissioners agreed to delay scheduling a public dedication until the bases are completed and the statues are installed.
Commissioners suggested coordinating any dedication with Mesquite Days (mid-May) if the pads and installation are ready by then. One commissioner said the library will plan a separate dedication for the statue assigned to that site.
