Staff told the committee that several trailheads across the county have seen the same informal use and that these spaces were not designed or designated as parking or to be ADA-compliant.
“Those are not designated parking spaces, and they're not designed to be ADA compliant or to safely get in and out,” a staff member said. Staff acknowledged complaints about after-hours use and said the department is reviewing whether the available county right-of-way can accommodate formal parking or whether other remedies requiring additional approvals should be pursued. No action was taken at the meeting; staff said they would report back when they have further information.
The committee member requested that staff provide a status update as residents are concerned about safety and maintenance of the site.
