DuPage County Public Works committee approves multiple contracts and renewals, including roofing, EV charger and natural-area management

The DuPage County Public Works Committee approved a series of procurement actions and contract renewals during its meeting, moving forward with roofing work at a regional water facility, an electric-vehicle charger for county judicial facilities, multiple facilities-management contracts and a renewed chemical supply agreement with a lower unit price.
The committee approved a contract to Olson Roofing Company to remove and replace roofing systems at the Southeast Regional Water Facility for a total not-to-exceed amount of $193,325 for the period April 8, 2025, through Nov. 30, 2025. It also approved a contract with Carbon Day EV Charging to furnish and deliver one charging port and a five-year commercial cloud plan for the county campus, with a contract amount not to exceed $19,755.70 and a service period from April 2, 2025, through April 1, 2030. The committee approved a contract with Nolan Sales Corporation to furnish, deliver and install carpet and flooring as needed for county facilities with a not-to-exceed amount of $150,000 for April 15, 2025, through April 14, 2027.
On facilities maintenance and campus services, the committee approved a one-year contract with Hay and Associates to provide natural-area management, including prescribed burning and weed control, for up to $41,000 from May 1, 2025, through April 30, 2026. Committee discussion clarified that the contract work covers ecological management for roughly 28 acres of campus natural areas, with about one acre of concentrated native plantings and additional restorations near the railroad corridor; staff noted that controlled burns must wait for appropriate spring or fall weather windows.
The committee approved a one-year bulk supply contract to Univar Solutions USA Inc. to furnish sodium bisulfite for the county's Woodridge and Knowwood water-treatment facilities on an as-needed basis for a total contract amount not to exceed $45,000 for April 8, 2025, through March 31, 2026. The committee also approved a related change order that decreased the vendor's unit price from approximately $2.65 per gallon to $2.54 per gallon (a decrease the staff described as 4.19%), a reduction the committee noted was secured through active negotiation with the vendor during the renewal process.
The committee approved several additional equipment and parts contracts: Allied Instrumentation for specified oxygen-analyzer parts for boilers at the power plant (not to exceed $20,494) and Metropolitan Industries for pump repair and replacement parts (not to exceed $30,000). Earlier in the meeting the committee also approved closing several expiring contracts and recognizing decreases in remaining contract values for vendors listed on the agenda (items numbered 25865 through 25870) because those contracts had reached expiration.
All motions on the procurement items were moved, seconded and carried by voice vote with no recorded opposition.
The committee did not request additional studies or refer items to another meeting; staff will proceed with contract execution and project scheduling according to the approved timeframes and procurement terms.
