The Wichita County Commissioners Court approved a contractor quote to enclose portions of an equipment building used by Road & Bridge Precinct 4, directing county funds to a stem-wall foundation with curbing and side walls to improve weather protection for smaller equipment.
Commissioner Watts described the existing long open‑sided shed and said the work will close in one side with a stem wall around the bottom and masonry or siding up the sides. The court discussed whether doors would be included; staff said the quote covered side walls and a stem wall but did not include installing doors, which would add to the cost.
Commissioners said the structure is approximately 100 feet by 30 feet and that stem-wall heights will vary with the sloped site from about 1 foot up to roughly 2.5 feet. The court approved the quote in a 5–0 vote; the work will be paid from the Road & Bridge departmental budget lines as determined by the county auditor.
The contract award was made by motion of Commissioner Beachum and seconded by Commissioner Fincannon; commissioners voted unanimously to approve.
