Rochester City Council approves package of bonds, housing and public-works measures

The Rochester City Council voted to approve a series of ordinances and resolutions during its meeting, adopting bond authorizations, budget amendments, housing and public-works agreements, and other measures across several council committees.

The most notable financial actions included Introductory Number 59, a bond ordinance authorizing the issuance of $17,020,000 to finance improvements to specified Rochester City School District buildings; Introductory Number 49, a bond ordinance authorizing $3,451,000 for the 2025 residential milling and resurfacing project; and Introductory Number 47, a bond ordinance authorizing $1,500,000 for preventative maintenance on Culver Road. The council also approved Introductory Number 33, an amendment to the 2024–25 budget and agreements for an affordable housing rehabilitation program, and Introductory Number 37, authorizing appropriations, a loan agreement, real-estate sale and a payment-in-lieu-of-taxes agreement for the Gardener’s Lofts affordable housing project.
