Taos County welcomes new hires; honors firefighter for 15 years of service

Taos County human resources supervisor Brandy Suazo introduced new employees and their positions during the March meeting.
New hires announced included Raelynn Garcia (deputy sheriff cadet, Taos County Sheriff’s Office), Callahan Jordan (firefighter EMT, Taos County Fire and EMS), Edward Goudele (transfer station attendant, Solid Waste Operations), Jolie Chavadia (firefighter EMT, Taos County Fire EMS), Turquoise Chenoa Velarde (community schools director) and Michaela Strzok (Meals on Wheels driver, Taos County Senior Program). Suazo welcomed the new employees to county service.
The commission then presented a years-of-service certificate to Michael (Mike) Cordova recognizing 15 years with county fire and rescue. Commissioners and staff praised Cordova’s leadership and vision as he rose through the ranks from EMT basic to his current role; Commissioner comments and plaque presentation acknowledged his service.
