Tega Cay council approves committee rules, pickleball fees and golf cart-path repairs in unanimous votes

The Tega Cay City Council on Feb. 18 unanimously approved a package of items that included changes to the city’s committee rules, an amended parks fee schedule that sets pickleball reservation fees, authorization to proceed with golf-cart path repairs and the creation of a steering committee to guide the city’s 2036 comprehensive-plan update.

Council approved the second reading of Ordinance 598, amending duties for the Parks, Recreation and Events Committee and the Stormwater and Environmental Committee, and Ordinance 599, which updates the fiscal 2024–25 parks and recreation fee schedule to add reservation fees for newly converted pickleball courts. Both ordinances passed on second reading with unanimous votes.

Council also authorized Pinnacle Golf Management to proceed with a phased cart-path resurfacing program beginning with the Grandview 9 in 2025 and tree-work tied to that phase; the work will be paid from golf-course proceeds as part of Pinnacle’s capital plan. The motion authorizing Pinnacle’s 2025 Grandview 9 resurfacing passed unanimously. The council accepted the minutes as presented earlier in the meeting.

On the comprehensive-plan update, council approved establishing a steering committee composed of two council members, two members of the planning commission and five city residents to work with the consultant and staff. The steering committee will help define subcommittees and guide the consultant’s outreach; planning commission members and councilors will remain part of the adoption process and the final comprehensive plan will return to planning commission and council for formal hearings and ordinance adoption.

All formal actions recorded at the meeting were unanimous on final votes.
