Converse said there were four public comments overall and that the review committees recorded no substantive dissenting comments on the sex‑education materials.
Several board members raised standards‑and‑scope concerns about AP Psychology, which is aligned to College Board standards. One board member said the AP Psychology standards include language on gender identity and social topics that she found objectionable and said she would not support adoption. That member concluded, "I will have to vote no." When the board voted, members in favor said "aye"; one member said "nay." The motion carried.
The board did not remove or alter the College Board AP standards; board discussion noted the district reviews AP materials out of caution but does not set College Board standards. No district‑level changes to course offerings were announced at the meeting.
