The City of Albany Board of Contract and Supplies voted Friday, March 21, 2025, to award two construction contracts and to authorize public advertisement for bids on a separate roadway project.
The board approved a $1,152,000 contract for the City of Albany Tricentennial Park Reconstruction Project and a $727,000 contract for a roof replacement project at 628 Delaware Avenue. The board also authorized the secretary to advertise for bids on the “roadway striking project 2025,” with proposals to be received in May 2025 and a required bid deposit of 5% of the total bid in the form of a certified check.
The Tricentennial Park resolution, read into the record by a board speaker, stated that the successful bidder was the lowest qualified bidder and concluded, “the mayor be authorized to sign the contract on behalf of the city.” Mr. Vogel (staff member) offered that resolution. The transcript did not record a company name for the Tricentennial Park low bidder beyond a reference to an “HMA contract separation” and the dollar amount of $1,152,000.
For the 628 Delaware Avenue roof replacement, the board recorded A. W. Farrell and Son as the lowest bidder and the contract amount as $727,000. Meeting notes say the roof replacement and the Tricentennial Park contract documents will be emailed to vendors, a detail attributed in the record to Mr. Golder.
Franzioli of the Department of General Services summarized the advertisement requirements for the roadway project, saying bids would be opened in May 2025 and that each bidder must submit a bid deposit equal to 5% of the total bid in the form of a bid bond or certified check.
A motion to accept the items on the agenda was made and seconded; the board voice-voted “Aye.” The meeting then adjourned.
The transcript does not record additional deliberations, named dissenting votes, or further details on bidder identities for the Tricentennial Park award beyond the contract type and dollar amount.
