Lawrence County approves short-term contract with Blueprint Services for family group decision making

The Lawrence County Board of Commissioners voted Tuesday to approve a short-term amendment to a county agreement with Blaine Brown and Blueprint Services to fund family group decision making.

The board approved resolution 70 by roll call, with Mister Accinado, Commissioner Kennedy and Commissioner Bogart voting yes. The amendment funds $16,009.51 for services beginning April 1 and running through June 30, according to the county presentation.

Mike, a Children and Youth Services representative, told the board that the county’s cost share on the contract is 5 percent and the state’s share is 95 percent. He said a request-for-proposals committee reviewed six responses, applied a common scoring metric, and recommended the selected provider. "So CYF was not involved in the process. So we had we had 6 responses, and the RFP committee created a metric that was equal for each applicant on a scale," Mike said. He said the awarded provider fell within the county’s budget and that the provider is already working with the county; the $16,009.51 covers the period through June 30 while a new contract is completed.

Commissioners asked no follow-up questions before the vote. The county clerk performed a roll-call vote that the meeting transcript records as: Mister Accinado — yes; Commissioner Kennedy — yes; Commissioner Bogart — yes. The motion carried.

The county packet notes that a new, longer-term contract will be brought forward after this interim period. The amendment as approved is an administrative funding action to allow the family group decision making program to begin April 1 under the selected provider.
