The Oak Grove Board of Alderwomen approved an agreement March 3 with Cat Excavation to replace the White Oaks sanitary sewer lift station at 39601 North Gillespie Road.
Public Works staff said the existing station was built to substandard specifications and was recommended for replacement in the city’s 2015 wastewater master plan. Olson Associates completed design and cost estimates in 2022. A public bid opening on Jan. 28 resulted in a single responsive bid from Cat Excavation; staff recommended moving forward under the 2025 capital improvement budget.
Corey (Public Works) said the station has deteriorated and poses safety concerns; staff included the capital project in the 2025 budget. When asked for a construction timeline, Corey said once work begins the replacement could take about four to six weeks depending on delivery variables.
A motion to approve the agreement with Cat Excavation was made, seconded and passed by voice vote. Staff will schedule the work and coordinate site access and construction timing with the contractor.
