Maplewood council approves Deer Creek Greenway cost-share, joins opioid settlement and advances Prop S budget

The Maplewood City Council on Tuesday approved three measures affecting local trails, public health funding and street repairs.
The council voted unanimously to authorize the city manager to execute a cost‑share agreement with Great Rivers Greenway for construction of the Deer Creek Greenway Trail between Sussex Avenue and Canterbury Avenue; the measure was approved as Ordinance 6069. The council also approved a resolution authorizing the city to participate in the national opioid settlement agreements and to execute related documents on the city’s behalf. Finally, the council approved the second reading of a budget amendment to increase the Proposition S allocation for streets and sidewalk improvements; the third and final reading of that amendment is scheduled for the council’s next meeting.
