City administrator says Boonville awarded $500,000 CDBG grant for Academic Hall

City Administrator Kate announced during the Jan. 21 meeting that the city received a positive notice from the Missouri Department of Economic Development: a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) award of $500,000 for Academic Hall.
Kate said the award will help offset project costs and that the city plans to submit a second CDBG application seeking $500,000 to assist with a proposed roundabout. She said the city will hold a public meeting as part of the federal/state grant process and that further steps will follow if the roundabout application proceeds.
No council action was required at the meeting; the announcement was delivered as part of the city administrator's report.
