The speaker noted the FedEx Institute’s work on intellectual property and tech transfer and said it has contracts with the Department of Defense but declined to provide details, saying some projects could not be disclosed. “They also have contracts with the Department of Defense working on some things that I'm not allowed to say,” the representative said.
Department staff said the visit was intended to showcase local innovation and that the department will share additional progress from the campus and other sites across the state. “We'll share more of some of the progress here and what's happening around the state across the state,” the representative said.
