The Yakima County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously Thursday to reappoint Dr. Jones to the Yakima Regional Clean Air Authority Board.
Commissioner Lindy moved to reappoint Dr. Jones and Commissioner McKinney seconded the motion. After a brief discussion about the applicant pool, the board called the vote and all commissioners voted in favor.

Commissioner Lindy later said, "I'm willing to move that we, we reappoint doctor Jones to the, to the Clean Air Board." Commissioner McKinney said she supported retaining Dr. Jones and formally seconded the motion, saying simply, "I will second."
Commissioners said they received five applications during the two-week window and that they were encouraged by interest in the board. Commissioner Lindy singled out another applicant, Dr. Thomas Boyd, saying Boyd "has some unique experience" and that staff or commissioners would reach out to encourage him to pursue future openings. The board did not interview applicants at the meeting.
The appointment will place Dr. Jones back on the Yakima Regional Clean Air Authority Board; no further details about term length or effective date were discussed at the work session.
