Linn County completes second-tier canvass for Lisbon Community School District measure NC; 197-25 in favor

Elections staff (unnamed) told the Board of Supervisors that Cedar County provided certified results of 37 votes in favor and 11 opposed, and Linn County’s certified results were 160 votes in favor and 14 opposed. Because Linn County is the jurisdiction’s control county (the county with the highest taxable value for the district), staff combined the certified returns to report the totals.
The staff member explained that a second-tier canvass is used for elections that span multiple counties and that two counties participated in this contest. No formal motion was required to accept the canvass results; staff said they would bring up the election abstracts for the supervisors to sign.
The board raised no questions during the presentation. The abstracts will be available for signatures as the next administrative step in certifying the election results.
