Supervisors reallocate $167 from Matthew 25 to Catherine McAuley Center

The Linn County Board of Supervisors approved a request from Matthew 25 to de-obligate $167 in Witwer Trust Fund grant money awarded for fiscal year 2025 and to award that amount instead to the Catherine McAuley Center.
Jesse Black, administrative specialist for the Board of Supervisors, told the board that the Witwer fund distribution approach allocated $50,000 to the Catherine McAuley Center and then divided remaining funds among other organizations, producing a $167 allocation to Matthew 25. Black said Matthew 25 asked that the small allocation be given to the Catherine McAuley Center because of the circumstances the center is facing.
Supervisors noted Matthew 25 receives other county support and moved to approve the de-obligation and transfer. The motion carried by voice vote.
