She said local volunteers, businesses and organizations have supported a tulip bulb fundraiser whose proceeds aid the network’s work; bulbs are being planted at entrance signs around the city. Matheny invited the public to the second annual Parkinson’s Empower Walk on April 26 at 50 North from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., which will offer resource tables and activities for people living with Parkinson’s and their caregivers.
Mayor Mearn, speaking briefly from the podium, said the proclamation was personal: her grandmother had Parkinson’s and she thanked Matheny and volunteers for their community work. City employees purchased and planted tulips around Welcome to Findlay signs, the mayor said.
Council presented the proclamation; no formal vote was required for the ceremonial item.
