The Morrow County Board of Commissioners unanimously proclaimed March 2025 as Red Cross Month at its March 10 meeting and heard a reading highlighting local Red Cross volunteer work.
Susan Bradley, identified in the meeting as an American Red Cross representative, read the proclamation text emphasizing the Red Cross mission to “prevent and alleviate human suffering” and praised local volunteers for providing emergency shelter, blood donations and training in life-preserving skills.
After the reading, a commissioner moved to approve the proclamation; the motion passed on roll call with Commissioners Mason and Abraham recorded as voting yes.
The proclamation text read in part: “We, the Morrow County Commissioners, by virtue of authority vested in us by the laws of Morrow County and Ohio, do hereby proclaim March 2025 as Red Cross Month.” The reading urged citizens to support the Red Cross’s humanitarian mission and recognize volunteers’ contributions to community resilience.
Commissioners and the Red Cross representative paused for a group photo following the presentation and encouraged residents to consider volunteer opportunities with the organization.
