Residents press county on drainage and EMA structure during public comment; commissioners promise follow-up

Nick Bundren of the Ohio Land and Liberty Coalition introduced an "88 county tour" and asked commissioners to meet about renewable-energy questions; he offered to follow up with staff. "We'd like to learn from you," Bundren said, and staff invited him to submit questions and arrange a one-on-one meeting.
Jeff Moore, a Westchester Township firefighter of more than 25 years, urged the board to support the Butler County Emergency Management Agency and to avoid structural changes that, he said, could divide cities and townships. Moore said stakeholders "appreciate the services" the EMA provides and asked for the commissioners' personal support.
Linda Jordan of 5145 Osberger Road described repeated flooding at her home that began after nearby property work and said Vickers Concrete (as she referenced the contractor) changed grading that now directs water onto her property. She said her house flooded two years ago with up to "12 inches to 23 inches of water" in the garage and that attempts to secure assistance had not resolved the problem. "Somebody's gotta help us," Jordan said; she described spending money on pumps and hoses to protect the house.
Commissioner Dixon asked Jordan which township meetings she had attended and, after hearing her account, invited her to stay after the meeting to meet on the sixth floor with county staff and to arrange contact with the county engineer. Dixon told Jordan, "If our department, the commissioner's department, has ability to help you, Commissioner Dixon will figure that out." The board did not take formal action during public comment but directed staff to follow up.
No formal votes were taken on topics raised in public comment; commissioners asked staff to receive follow-up information and to coordinate with the county engineer where appropriate.
