Commissioners approve county budget transfers, appropriations and selected agency resolutions on consent agenda

Dave McCormick, Butler County finance director, presented several finance and requisition items during the meeting and recommended approval.
McCormick said the Board of Elections requested a transfer of $275,000 into technology support for implementation and maintenance services for a new voter registration system. Development, Planning and Building requested $5,000 moved into refunds; Community Mental Health requested $3,940 be moved into employer life insurance. The prosecutor requested a $7,066.94 appropriation into salaries and benefits for salary adjustments and part B lump sums.
Under purchase orders and requisitions, McCormick reported one requisition from the sheriff for $37,300 to replace hall and lobby flooring at 705 Hanover Street. The finance director recommended approval of the items.
A motion "to approve the resolutions as presented by the finance department" was made and seconded; the board approved the finance department items on a roll-call vote with Commissioners Carpenter, Rogers and Dixon each voting yes.
Later, the board also approved a package of department and agency resolutions on the consent agenda, including personnel actions, maintenance-bond releases and an engineer contract award for multiple rigid overlay projects to Sonesis Construction Company not to exceed $1,109,554.36, and other engineering items. Those consent-agenda resolutions were moved, seconded and approved on roll-call vote with all three commissioners voting yes.
McCormick and staff said the advertised water service line replacement project for Westchester Township would proceed to bid and that maintenance-bond actions and contract awards follow standard engineer and procurement processes.
