Council approves two advisory-board appointments, sets district evening meeting; executive ordinances noted

Pierce County Council members voted on several routine but formal items during the March 2025 meeting, confirming advisory-board appointments, scheduling an evening district meeting and noting two ordinances transmitted and signed by the executive.
The council unanimously approved Resolution R2025-113, confirming the appointments of Melissa Haney and Dr. Lucas McIntyre to the Behavioral Health Advisory Board. Dr. Lucas McIntyre introduced himself during the public hearing as a child and adolescent psychiatrist with MultiCare and founding director of Tacoma General’s adolescent partial hospitalization program; he also said he serves temporarily as acting medical director for the Tacoma General Adolescent Behavioral Health Unit. The resolution passed on a 5-0 roll call.
The council also adopted Resolution R2025-116, confirming the appointment of Jordan Ealy to the (as stated in the packet) Dunfield Advisory Commission. Ealy introduced themself on Zoom as an active-duty Air Force member interested in serving in local leadership roles; the resolution passed 5-0.
Council members adopted Resolution R2025-109 to set the District 4 evening council meeting for Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at 6 p.m. in University Place City Hall Chambers, 3609 Market Place West, Suite 200, University Place. Staff explained the Pierce County Charter requires at least one evening meeting in each of the seven council districts annually and the council's rules establish the time and place by resolution.
The meeting record also noted two ordinances transmitted by the executive and approved and signed on Feb. 26, 2025: Ordinance O2025-500, granting supplemental franchise number 1 to the OHOP Mutual Light Company for power-line locations on county right-of-way, and Ordinance O2025-501, granting a nonexclusive franchise to the Shore Acres Water Company for water-line locations on county right-of-way.
The council adopted an amended consent agenda at the start of the meeting (5 ayes, 0 nays), moving several items to section 8 for public hearing and final action later in the agenda.
