St. Mary's County commissioners authorize filing claims in Centas proposed class-action settlement

St. Mary's County Commissioners voted April 1 to approve submitting claims in the proposed Centas class-action settlement and authorized Buffy Giddens to sign the claims forms and related documents.

Commissioner Colvin moved the measure during the meeting, saying the action would add the county’s name to a class-action suit involving a company the county does business with that “may have overcharged us.” Colvin said the county could recover a refund or rebate if the claim succeeds.
