Camille Zoller and Natalie Gass, city sustainability staff, previewed several near-term events and outreach efforts that tie into the proclamation.
Natalie Gass, Sustainability Program Manager for the city, told commissioners the city will hold a weekly “Birds and Breakfast” program in Hammock Park; an Arbor Day tree giveaway will be held April 12 at Achieve Credit Union at 8 a.m.; and a “Growing Together” children’s event is scheduled the same day at the Dunedin Library from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Staff also will host an environmental booth at the downtown Dunedin market during Earth Week on April 25. The commission was told the 2025 Dunedin Environmental Hero award will be presented at the May 8 commission meeting.
Commissioners thanked staff for the outreach and emphasized that the proclamation supports ongoing planning in the city’s environmental action master plan. The presentation did not include any formal votes beyond the proclamation.
