Highway crews patch potholes and grade roads after winter; residents praise work

"If we put the stone in the potholes, we got the instant gratification with a smoother road," Russ said. He described work on Youngs Hill, Ring Road and other local roads, and said a combination of leftover winter sand and stone helps establish a better base.
Russ said town crews were fortunate after recent icy weather and that overall damage had been manageable. Residents and a public commenter praised the crew's responsiveness; one resident noted Bearhill Road and Old Shaker had been improved and called the work "phenomenal."
There were no formal board actions on roads at the meeting; selectmen thanked the crew and closed the update.
