Board proclaims April 7–13 National Public Health Week, recognizes three public health employees

Kings County supervisors on April 1 proclaimed the week of April 7–13 as National Public Health Week and honored three long-serving public health employees for their service.
Rosemary Rand, director of public health, outlined the theme for National Public Health Week and said the department planned daily social-media posts to highlight core public-health functions, including resilience, workforce development and amplifying community voices. Rand introduced three employees: Donna Randall (medical assistant, infection prevention clinics), Delfina Munoz (WIC nutrition assistant) and Liliana Stransky (supervising environmental health specialist); she noted each has worked for the department for more than 20 years.
Rand also reminded the Board and audience about flu vaccination availability and noted the department’s displacement after an April 2024 fire — the department continues short-term leasing and plans to relocate into renovated county space in the future.
Supervisors offered brief congratulations and the Board posed for a commemorative photograph with staff.
