Craig Valdez, staff to Representative George Rauscher, told the committee the task force would be seven members and would examine how AI affects state agencies, people and statutes. Committee members asked how the task force might connect with national efforts, including the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) and other multi-state working groups; Valdez and other staff recommended staying connected to those ongoing national conversations.
Representative Kai Holland noted a related “lunch-and-learn” on AI later that day and encouraged leveraging national work. No members of the public offered testimony on HCR 3, and the committee closed public testimony and set the resolution aside for further consideration.
