Committee counsel told lawmakers the bill “modifies the composition of the Board of Physical Therapy by adding a certified athletic trainer to the board,” clarifies qualifications for the board’s citizen member and “adds a procedure for resolving a tie vote.” Counsel also said the Board of Physical Therapy is the licensing authority for athletic trainers and that the board currently does not include a certified athletic trainer among its members.
The vice chair moved that the bill be reported to the full Senate with the recommendation that it do pass; the chair put the question and, by voice, declared the motion adopted. Committee counsel described the measure as coming over from the House “as what was, represented to us as a, agreed upon bill.”
