Shalonda L. Warren sworn in for third term as West Palm Beach commissioner for District 2

At a special meeting of the West Palm Beach City Commission on March 31, 2025, Judge Bradley Harper administered the oath of office to Shalonda L. Warren, who was sworn in to begin her third term as city commissioner for District 2.
The swearing-in was introduced by Commission leadership and included a formal recitation of the oath. Judge Bradley Harper led Warren through the oath, after which Commissioner Shalonda L. Warren addressed the commission and the audience.
"I sit here before you today deeply honored and grateful as I take oath of, my third term as West Palm Beach City Commissioner," Commissioner Shalonda L. Warren said, reflecting on the past four years and the city's recovery and growth following the COVID-19 pandemic.
Warren listed priorities she said she will continue to pursue in her new term: economic growth, infrastructure investment, public safety, support for small businesses and minority- and women-owned businesses, affordable housing and enhanced community engagement. She noted the city's rising profile, saying West Palm Beach was "nationally recognized" and cited a TripAdvisor ranking as the "number 1 trending destination in The United States." She also thanked fellow commissioners, the mayor's office and staff, and singled out Administrator Johnson for her leadership.
Outgoing Commission President Kathleen Ward presented Warren with a plaque before the oath and offered praise for Warren's leadership and mentorship. Commissioners Christina Lambert and Christina Fox also spoke in Warren's honor during the ceremony.
Commissioner Peduzzi was absent from the meeting and will be sworn in at a later date, the commission announced during the session.
The ceremonial swearing-in took place during a short special meeting that also included the election of the commission president and adjourned shortly after those formalities.
