HANAHAN, S.C. — The Hanahan City Council voted March 11 to authorize the city—s legal counsel to disclose information discussed during a preceding executive session.
The motion, offered after the council returned to open session, said the authorization covered “the information as discussed in executive session, current information, or information that may be learned to the appropriate entities.” The council recorded a roll call and approved the motion.
Mayor Christie Rainwater presided when the vote was taken; Council members recorded as voting in favor included Council member Crowley, Colton Shea, Sally, Dyson and Mayor Pro Tem Hedgepaugh. Council member Spurlock was noted as absent for the vote. Allison (staff) conducted the roll calls during the transition from executive session to open session.
The council did not provide additional detail in open session about what information would be disclosed or to which outside parties, and no legal documents were presented at the public meeting. The motion authorizes the city attorney to make disclosures consistent with the scope discussed in the closed session.
No ordinance, contract or other public action tied to the executive session was included in materials presented to the council at the meeting.
