Ocean Shores committee to seek Transportation Benefit District changes for road repairs and striping

City staff said they will pursue a material change order to the city’s Transportation Benefit District plan to add a set of prioritized road cutouts and overlays and other eligible work, moving those expenses from the street/general fund to TBD funds where legal requirements are met.

Why it matters: Staff identified roughly $38,610 in candidate pavement repairs that could be paid from the TBD rather than the street fund. Staff said some recently contracted striping work — a $61,000 job that was later re‑done at no charge because of quality issues — had been paid from the general fund but could have been eligible for TBD funding under the TBD’s project criteria.
