Council approved a revision to AXZ-2021-01 that removes language assigning sewer responsibility to the Metropolitan Sewer Subdistrict for a townhome development at 215–231 Stenhouse Road.
Planner Mr. Derby explained that when the 2021 annexation occurred the city was not part of the Metro intergovernmental agreement for sewer; the 2021 ordinance included a clause (paragraph 8) assigning Metro as the sewer provider. Public Works later reviewed plans and determined the city is the appropriate sewer provider for the site, so the city presented an amended ordinance with paragraph 8 removed. Council member Hutchings moved approval; the motion carried 7–0.
Staff indicated the change would permit the city to provide sewer connections and that public-works staff will implement the connection consistent with technical requirements and intergovernmental coordination.
