Bluffton — The Town Council on March 11 ratified an easement in favor of Dominion Energy South Carolina to provide utility service to a 12-home workforce housing project at 1095 May River Road.
Town staff explained the property was acquired for affordable housing under a 2022 master agreement with Workforce State of Mind LLC. Dominion requested a utility easement across a town-owned portion of the site so the cooperative can install lines and meters to serve individual lots. Staff said the easement follows the route shown on construction drawings and will be finalized with as-built documents when work is complete.
Staff reported a pre-construction meeting is scheduled for March 14; construction mobilization (silt fencing, site clearing and infrastructure work) is expected to begin immediately afterward with vertical construction targeted to begin late May and run into August 2026, weather permitting. Council approved the ratification unanimously.
