District staff said a revised draft of the Moore County Schools strategic plan (version 03/26/25) will be posted for public comment between April 8 and April 28. The revision reflects board feedback from a prior March 3 session and staff highlighted changes in red for easier review.
Staff outlined an engagement plan that includes social-media messaging, school-based communication, outreach to the teacher advisory council, support-staff advisory council, principal advisory group and community advisory groups. The district plans to collect input, return a summary to the board at the May 5 work session and then bring a recommended strategic plan for board consideration on June 2 with the hope of approval at the June 9 regular meeting.
A board member asked staff to consider clearer instructions in the public survey (for example, allowing participants to select "no opinion" for individual items) and to package communications so citizens can find and comment on specific sections (transportation, facilities, recruitment/retention) more easily.
Staff said they will incorporate that feedback into outreach messaging and return a consolidated report of public and advisory input to the board in May.
