A county presenter reported that registration for the county's Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training during the week of April 14'18 has been at capacity for over a week; the registration deadline was noted as the day after the meeting.
The presenter said law enforcement agencies received priority for seats and that the training will include both classroom program presentations and small group site visits. Site visit options listed in the meeting included youth‑focused programs (TAY, Raven Project, YSC), homeless services programs, substance use disorder programs (Waterfront, Humboldt Recovery Center, Humboldt Programs for Recovery), Arcadia housing programs and a jail tour of behavioral health units.
Presenters at the training will include county behavioral health staff (including a system overview), Kelly Schwartz from the public guardian's office to discuss LPS conservatorship processes, and other community providers and tribal partners. The meeting record lists participating tribal and regional partners planning to attend: Arcata, Rio Dell, Bear River tribal police, Yurok tribal police, United Indian Health, Karuk and other native‑serving organizations.
