He and Representative Espinosa said statutory revisions passed as part of a previous session created deadline issues that this bill aims to correct so the Department can finish required reporting tied to a repeal scheduled for July 1, 2027.

Sponsors said the bill adds a subsection to clarify the repeal and reporting dates so evaluations can be wrapped up as intended.
