Colorado House reads bill introductions, refers dozens of measures to committees; adjourns until April 1

The Colorado House of Representatives convened for a brief legislative session in which the clerk read a package of bill introductions and the chamber formally referred them to standing committees before adjourning until April 1 at 9 a.m.

Mr. Schiebel, a staff member, read reports of committees of reference and recited the titles and sponsors of multiple House and Senate measures, then announced committee assignments for each bill.

Among the measures announced, the House referred a bill described in the reading as creating the “Colorado Voting Rights Act” and related election-administration provisions to the Committee on State, Civic, Military, and Veterans Affairs. The clerk identified that as part of a reading that also mentioned provisions concerning vacancies in the General Assembly.
