County staff recommends buying 2025 Chrysler Pacifica for crisis diversion transport

A county staff member said the purchase follows the Cascade County Commission’s March 11, 2025, resolution 25-19, which appropriated $1,212,399 from the crisis diversion grant for the fiscal year. The staff member said one expected expense under the program was a minivan to transport individuals.
Public Works requested three quotes: $44,942 for a 2025 Chrysler Pacifica Select AWD from Lithia Chrysler Jeep Dodge of Helena; $44,733 for a 2025 Honda Odyssey EX-L (staff said that vehicle did not have full-time all-wheel drive and used “intelligent traction control”); and $43,054 for a 2025 Toyota Sienna LE. Staff recommended the Chrysler Pacifica because it provides all-time all-wheel drive and met the county’s size and three-row seating requirements.
A commissioner asked how the county chose the most expensive quote; staff replied the selection was based on seating capacity and all-wheel drive capability. The recommendation will be processed through the regular contracting/approval process; the work session did not record a formal vote.
