Board approves multiple procurement items including CCTV contract, utility‑bill printing and park drainage fix

Macomb Township trustees on March 26 approved a series of procurement and equipment purchases during the meeting’s business agenda.

Key approvals included replacement of Senior Center rooftop HVAC unit No. 2 for $20,330; award of the 2025 CCTV and cleaning project to Rogue Industrial Services for $344,250; a one‑year utility‑bill printing contract to Peregrine Services for $15,600 (one year with an optional three‑year extension at the same price); purchase of a fertilizer spreader (Z‑Spray mid‑30) for $18,509 through the OMNIA cooperative; and an added agenda item to install a French drain at Pitchford Park for $14,870.

Staff said the Department of Public Works used an RFP process for major contracts. For the HVAC replacement, nine proposals were received, three firms were interviewed and Allied Building Services was recommended as the provider; the work requires coordination with the township’s HVAC service provider for controller programming. For the CCTV cleaning project, seven proposals were received and Rogue was recommended following interviews; staff noted an existing working relationship with Rogue since February 2022. The utility‑bill printing RFP drew 11 proposals; Peregrine was the incumbent and the lowest priced responsive bidder. The Parks and Recreation department obtained three quotes for the French drain and recommended the low quote from French Drain Man to address persistent flooding at the dog‑park entrance; staff said township engineers reviewed the fix and the contractor estimated two to three days for installation once frost laws allow.

Votes on each procurement item were taken separately; every procurement motion passed unanimously. After approval, staff noted practical details such as temporary park closure during French drain work, anticipated trade‑in for the spreader and continuation of vendor pricing through the extension options.
