Trustees adopt zoning amendment allowing narrower side yards on select lots

Macomb Township trustees on March 26 adopted an amendment to the township zoning ordinance to adjust minimum side yard requirements for certain lots.
Planning staff said the revision addresses older, narrower lots and some lots in the town center where the standard 70‑foot minimum lot width does not fit the existing parcels. The amendment allows slightly narrower setbacks for those lots while adding drainage and slope requirements to protect stormwater function.
Planning staff said the Planning Commission reviewed the change and recommended approval unanimously. The board adopted the amendment on a roll call vote with all members in favor.
