During public comment, resident Mark Monahan said he had audited his Priority Waste/GFL account records and found multiple errors that he told trustees should be investigated by township staff.
Monahan said some residents have not received invoices, that account balances carried over from the previous contractor appear incorrect, and that the original GFL contract contains multiple mistakes. He told the board the contract was for 260 weeks, not a five‑year period, and that the contract was calculated to end one week early — March 16 rather than March 23 — because of an apparent math error. He also said prepayment discounts described in the contract exhibits were not applied to customers' accounts. Monahan said he had forwarded his findings to the deputy supervisor and asked the township to follow up.
Monahan said he had received delayed or inadequate responses from the contractor and expected the township to review and, if appropriate, seek refunds or credits on behalf of affected residents. He urged trustees to resolve account inaccuracies and to publicize accurate billing guidance to residents.
The trustees did not record a motion or vote on Monahan's comments during the meeting. A board member offered to have staff follow up with Monahan after the meeting.
