Board approves replacement aluminum stairs at 33 Gregory Street

The Pensacola Architectural Review Board on March 20 approved final review for replacement exterior stairs at 33 Gregory Street (the Rocks Cali building) in the Palafox Historic Business District.
Adrianne Walker described the application as a final review for an aluminum, oil‑rubbed‑bronze powder‑coated stair to replace an existing rusted stair that provides egress from the building’s second floor. Applicant Timothy Dufresne said the existing stairs date to roughly the 1940s, are badly rusted and do not meet code; from most public viewpoints the structure is not highly visible.
Board members thanked the applicant for bringing forward the improvement and voted to approve the proposed aluminum stairs as submitted by voice vote. Staff will process permits consistent with the board approval.
