GADSDEN COUNTY — The Gadsden County School Board approved a slate of routine agenda items Wednesday, including a FEMA-funded contract for a generator and the district’s five-year facilities work plan.
The board first voted to approve the remainder of agenda items 6A through 8B, with item 8A pulled for separate discussion. After discussion, board member Johnson moved to approve item 8A, the execution of a FEMA contract for a generator; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. District staff noted the procurement and installation timeline could take as long as nine months after the board’s approval. "Most likely not. It's a 9 month process," said Miss Jackson, a district staff member explaining the FEMA award timeline.
The board later approved item 10A, the district five-year work plan, on a motion recommended by the superintendent; that item also passed by voice vote.
The board approved the remaining items on agenda number 9 (with several subitems pulled and deferred), again accepting the superintendent's recommendations by voice vote.
